“Using digitalization responsibly as a powerful lever for a resource-efficient and resilient society – in harmony with ecological, economic, and social considerations.”
The working group examines the interface between digitalization and sustainability from two perspectives:
Digital sustainability – How can digitalization be used in a targeted manner to promote ecological, social, and economic sustainability in business and society?
Sustainable digitalization – How can digitalization be designed in such a way that it has a long-term resource-saving, socially acceptable, and responsible impact?
The fundamental goal of the working group is to highlight the challenges and opportunities of both perspectives and to identify concrete solutions.
In this way, our working group aims to make a socially relevant contribution to a long-term successful and more resource-efficient economy through digitalization.
To this end, the working group invites participants to a variety of discussion rounds and workshops to facilitate the exchange of experiences among a wide range of participants. Experts from business, science, civil society, and politics with many years of experience and expertise form the “Digitalization & Sustainability” working group, which is headed by Prof. Dr. Johann Kranz (LMU Munich). Based on the experts‘ assessments, recommendations for action are developed for society, businesses, and politics.
