Save-The-Date: Symposium “Sustainability Reporting Under the Omnibus Directive: Fewer Reporting Requirements, More Flexibility?”

Sustainability is under pressure: regulatory requirements are changing, budgets are being scrutinized, and many companies are wondering what really matters in the wake of CSRD, Omnibus, and ESRS 2.0.
At the same time, it is becoming increasingly clear that companies that collect sustainability data solely for reporting purposes are squandering potential. When used correctly, this data becomes the foundation for better management, more resilient supply chains, credible transformation, and new business opportunities.

At our expert conference “Sustainability Reporting After Omnibus:
Less Reporting Obligation, More Creative Freedom?”

we will discuss with experts from academia, business, consulting, and politics how companies can shape the new sustainability agenda in a pragmatic, effective, and forward-looking way.

The focus will be on the questions that truly concern companies right now: What changes will the Omnibus Directive and ESRS 2.0 bring? What remains relevant despite regulatory relief? What lessons are companies learning from the first wave of CSRD implementation? How do digital tools and AI help make sustainability data more usable? And how does transparency translate into a genuine contribution to risk management, financing, innovation, and competitiveness?

Look forward to contributions and perspectives from:

• Prof. Dr. Kerstin Lopatta, University of Hamburg, Chair of the EFRAG Sustainability
Reporting Board
• Angelika Niebler, Member of the European Parliament
