Networking Evening: Between consolation and deception: AI, memory, and death
Networking Evening: Between consolation and deception: AI, memory, and death
Artificial intelligence (AI) has long since left the laboratories and is rapidly permeating our lives. It enables the creation of digital twins of everything: products, systems, processes, and even people, with a wide range of possible applications. From industrial product development to the optimization of everyday processes to the design of our digital reality—the development is unstoppable. But with this technological power come profound ethical and emotional challenges. How is AI changing our understanding of humanity, memory, and even how we deal with loss and death?
We cordially invite you to a special networking evening dedicated to these very existential questions.
The focus will be on the experimental short film “Überrest” (Remains), a production by a talented group of students from the Stuttgart Media University (HdM).
The film presents a fascinating and intimate exploration of the intersection of AI, memory, and human emotions. It tells of the deep longing to connect with what has been lost—and in doing so, highlights the opportunities and pitfalls of new technologies that bring us ever closer to simulating the human experience.
These questions are the focus of the evening:
What does it mean when machines (AI) can mimic our most intimate memories? And where is the line between comfort and deception?
Join us in discussing the role of AI in our society and expand your network in an inspiring setting.
